Steve is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer for Dave & Buster’s, Inc. with responsibility for all aspects of the company’s operations and development.  After succeeding the company founders in 2006, he successfully repositioned the brand and executed a plan for accelerated growth.  Dave & Buster’s is now the largest operator of high volume entertainment and dining facilities across the US & Canada, where guests can Eat, Drink, Play and Watch Sports in a high energy fun filled dynamic environment.  In October of 2014, the company went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol “PLAY”.    

Prior to joining Dave & Buster’s Steve spent 22 years with Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, the parent of TGI Friday’s during its most aggressive period of growth.  He joined the company in 1984 when the company owned 68 TGI Friday’s restaurants and left as the brand passed 900 units.  During his tenure he served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer for the U.S. and President of the International Division.    

After graduating from the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Steve continued his Cornell experience earning his Master in Business Administration degree from the Johnson School.  He joined Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) and became a Certified Public Accountant and then began working for The Prudential in their real estate investment group.      

Steve is the proud father of three children, Ryan, a recently returned Peace Corps volunteer (Ethiopia) and currently working at the EPA, Brianna, a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Masters in Accounting Program & associate at KPMG in Dallas, and Megan, who enrolled at SMU, following in her sister’s footsteps.  His wife, Shauna, recently retired as the Vice President of Finance and Business Operations for Yale University.    

Whenever the family has a chance, they like to escape to their cranberry farm on Cape Cod, where Steve can sometimes be found driving a tractor but more frequently be found on his boat in search of bass and blues.
