About
In early 2014, at the age of 40, funds affiliated with Apollo Global Management named David Lopez President and Chief Executive Officer of AGS, a full-service designer and manufacturer of gaming products for the casino floor. Under his leadership, AGS has made numerous strategic acquisitions, including slot machine manufacturer Cadillac Jack; an asset purchase from Rocket Gaming Systems; a significant amount of content and technology for table games from In Bet Gaming and other third-party developers; social casino developer RocketPlay; Gameiom Technologies, an iGaming content aggregator and content provider; and Integrity Gaming Corp., an Oklahoma and Texas operator of more than 2,500 Class III and Class II games. These tactical acquisitions expanded AGS' product portfolio to include a diverse mix of Class II and Class III slot products, a growing table games segment, and an interactive division offering social casino and online-real money gaming solutions for players and operators ─ positioning the company as one of the world's most diverse gaming suppliers. This expansion also led to a successful initial public offering of the company's stock on the New York Stock Exchange in January 2018, which now trades under the ticker symbol AGS. Lopez's 21+ years of gaming industry experience spans both the supplier space and casino entertainment operations. Before joining AGS, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Global Cash Access (now EVRI). Before that, Lopez acted as Chief Operating Officer for leading card shuffler and table game provider Shuffle Master, Inc (SHFL, now a Scientific Games asset). During his nearly 15-year tenure at Shuffle Master, Lopez held various executive positions, including Interim CEO, Executive Vice President, President of the Americas, Vice President of Product Management, as well as serving as a member of its Board of Directors. Lopez was instrumental in Shuffle Master's phenomenal growth from a $27 million company in 1998 to nearly $260 million in annual revenues when he left the company in 2012. After receiving his degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), Lopez got his start in gaming working in casino entertainment operations. Lopez is a military veteran, having served eight years in the National Guard/Reserves. As a current member of the American Gaming Association's CEO Roundtable, Lopez plays an active role in developing strategies that help shape the future of the gaming industry alongside fellow casino operator and supplier CEOs.
