Jay McDaniel has worked in the gaming industry for over 12 years. After graduating with a BS in Accounting from Mississippi State University, he joined the Mississippi Gaming Commission as a compliance auditor in 1997. After serving 5 years as a gaming auditor and 2 years as an internal auditor with a private company in North Carolina, Jay attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. Upon graduating, Jay was hired by Butler Snow law firm in Jackson where he worked as a litigator on product liability and general litigation cases for 3 years. In 2011, Jay left that practice to return to the industry in his current position as Deputy Director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission. Jay primarily works on legal issues in the areas of licensing, compliance and enforcement. He is past Chair of the Gaming Section of the Mississippi Bar. Jay currently resides in Brandon, Mississippi with his wife Carly and their two children.
