Mr. Witterschein is President of Tribal Gaming Services & Advisory Group, Inc. a nationwide Indian Gaming and Tribal Government consulting practice with a focus on customer research, development, marketing and casino strategy. He brings in excess of thirty five years casino management and marketing experience to a wide variety of marketing and operational initiatives. Joe operates from a "hands on - roll up your sleeves and get involved" style of management. Joe has the ability to get deep inside the marketing programs of our clients, bringing to light all the components of aggressive and successful marketing initiatives. He has broad experience in creating and implementing the most critical of programs and enjoys developing a sound strategic partnership with our clients. Joe has one of the most extensive and well recognized backgrounds in all of Indian Country. In 1995 he joined the management team at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel (Mdwakanton Sioux) where he spent ten years serving in a number of executive management positions. He helped transform that Tribal operation from a small bingo hall into one of the most successful casinos in the country. As the Director of Sales and Marketing he built and directed programs encompassing all facets of casino marketing and development including regional marketing, player development, hotel sales and media/advertising planning. Mr. Witterschein also spent 8 years as a Vice President for The Innovation Group, a leading casino gaming consulting firm. Working nationwide he has been involved with dozens of Native American casino operations of all sizes from coat to coast. The roster of Indian tribes that have utilized his expertise for management consulting, marketing advisory and staff mentoring runs across every gaming jurisdiction in the country. These include: Oklahoma (Kickapoo, Eastern Shawnee, Choctaw, Osage); Kansas (Prairie Band); Iowa, (Omaha, Sac & Fox); Nebraska, (Ponca); Wisconsin, (Pottawatomi, Oneida, Red Cliff, Ho Chunk, LDF, Chippewa); Minnesota,(Mdwakanton, Ojibwa, Leech Lake, Prairie Island); California, (Cabazon, Win River, Bear River, Pechanga, Hopland, Table Mountain); Oregon, (Grand Rhond, Cow Creek, Lower Umpqua Confederated Tribes); Washington, (Lower Elwha, Nisqually, Quinault, Yakama); New Mexico (Sandia, Santa Ana); Texas, (Kickapoo)Florida, (Seminole); Louisiana, (Chitimacha). Mr. Witterschein began his gaming career in Atlantic City and held various marketing management positions for the Sands, Golden Nugget and Trump organizations. He was one of the first gaming executives in the riverboat gaming industry, having joined as a senior executive at the outset of riverboat gaming in 1991 where he was responsible for creating and developing the first marketing and sales programs used in the initial properties that opened in the Iowa, Illinois, Mississippi and Missouri markets. He has traveled extensively across the United States performing much of the early market assessment work for new gaming developments. His depth of knowledge and expertise is evident across a wide variety of marketing applications, including qualitative and quantitative research, player development, strategic marketing, branding and advertising as well as long range planning and budgeting. Joe is an oft requested speaker and presenter at key gaming industry seminar and trade shows across the U.S. and Canada. He has served as both a moderator and panelist at countless gaming industry forums, including annually at G2E in Las Vegas, NIGA, the Canadian Gaming Summit and the Race Track Industry Symposium. Joe specializes in serving as a mentor and guide to start up casino operations and also advises senior management and Tribal boards on marketing matters. He holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from St. Bonaventure University and is a graduate of the Industrial Relations Center for Executive Education at California Institute of Technology in Pasadena
