Federal, Tribal and State-Specific Update on the Sports Betting Rollout in the U.S.

October 15, 2019, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Special Events Stage
States have moved rapidly to legalize and regulate sports betting since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in May 2018. Currently, sports betting is authorized in eighteen states and the District of Columbia, with dozens of additional jurisdictions poised to debate legislative action in 2020. The state-by-state roll out of legal sports betting has yielded a variety of approaches and policy choices, which have produced different results in active markets. During this session, panelists will discuss the current sports betting landscape across commercial and tribal gaming states as well as the prospects of Congress pursuing federal legislation.
