This session will cover mission critical information regarding management of risks related to operating online gambling products, in particular, sports betting products. Covering consumer related risks, business related risks, and a research collaboration to identify and address those risks, this is a session you can't afford to miss. Topics covered include: • Consumer related risks with a focus on gambling addiction/responsible gambling, customer verification and data protection – tools, policies and programs and their implementation; • Business related risks – prevention of match fixing/fraud/money laundering; • Regulatory/licensing risks – tools, policies and programs and their implementation; • Evidence-based identification of risk for gambling-related problems. Using open science practices with academic research partners to understand customers from a public health and responsible gambling perspective; • Evidence-based education and outreach. Using empirical findings and evidence-based tools to inform employees and the general public about safer Internet gambling and sports wagering; and, • The path forward: modeling the promise of academic-industry partnership.
